A very special hello to you in [Hometown], all the way from the North Pole, on your very first Christmas.

What an exciting Christmas this is. Your very first Christmas tree, your first twinkling lights, your first Christmas morning and, of course, your very first visit from me.

I’ve been hearing a little about you too. I know that [something kind or wonderful]. It sounds to me like you are already becoming a very special little person.

You might be too little to remember this Christmas, but I have a feeling your family will remember it forever.

There are so many wonderful Christmases waiting for you. Christmases filled with traditions, laughter, surprises and a little bit of magic. But there will only ever be one first Christmas.

So keep this letter somewhere safe. One day, when you’re big enough to read it for yourself, you can look back and know that on your very first Christmas, all the way up here at the North Pole, Santa already knew your name.

The snow has settled softly on the rooftops here, and the elves have been busy by lantern light, polishing sleigh bells, wrapping presents and checking my lists. Twice, of course. We wouldn’t want to miss anything.

I wanted to write to you personally this year because I’ve been hearing such wonderful things about you all the way from [Hometown].

My helpers tell me that [Age] has been a very special year for you. They told me [something kind or wonderful], and it made me smile.

Things are wonderfully busy here at the North Pole. The reindeer are enjoying their favourite treats, the elves are putting the finishing touches to their presents, and my sleigh is nearly ready for its long journey around the world.

So, on Christmas Eve, snuggle down, close your eyes and listen carefully. You never know when you might hear the faintest jingle of sleigh bells overhead.

I have been meaning to write to you, and tonight, while the snow falls quietly outside my window, I finally found just the moment.

It is peaceful in my little corner of the North Pole tonight, although I can still hear the elves hurrying between the workshops and the occasional jingle of reindeer bells outside.

Earlier this evening, I was reading through my notes about some of the wonderful things children have been doing this year, and there you were, [Child's Name].

Now, I had better get back to work before the elves come looking for me. There is rather a lot still to be done around here before Christmas Eve!

Something rather special arrived on my desk at the North Pole recently, a little piece of news about you.

Throughout the year, my helpers send me notes about children from all over the world. I never quite know what I’ll discover when I open them.

Things here are beginning to feel wonderfully Christmassy too. Parcels are piling up in the workshop, sleigh bells are being polished and the reindeer seem to know that their biggest night of the year is getting closer. Rudolph, for one, has already started asking about carrots.
